This year's competition was intense for adults and children as each competitor attempted to be the fastest person to eat one baked potato. Everyone had a different strategy. Some rationalized the butter would help grease the potato so that it could be swallowed more quickly. Others opted to eat the potato plain without being slowed up by added toppings. Whatever their technique, everyone had a good time.
Hot Potato
We played this game with a real hot potato (but not too hot!). The potato was flying around the circle at dizzying speeds, making judging difficult. No one wanted to be caught with the potato in their hands when the music stopped!
Potato Sack Races
People were jumping at the chance to participate in the Potato Sack Race. As contests leapt toward the finish line, crowds cheered them on. It was good old fashioned fun on the farm.
Potato Scramble
This event was for kids only. We hid potatoes in every nook and cranny of our Lil' Farmers' Playland. Much like an Easter egg hunt, the kids raced to find the potatoes, which they then exchanged for prizes.
Phredd in Concert
Phredd pleased crowds with his fun-filled-family-friendly music. His creative tunes entertained both children and adults.
Eastland Alpacas
These furry creatures are becoming a regular at our festivals. The booth was a big hit because of both the alpacas and the fine alpaca products that the Zurin Family has for sale.
